2ND INDUCTION CEREMONY 2011

Introduction

   

The Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN), a parastatal under Federal Ministry of Education was established by Decree 12 of 1995 and charged among others, with the responsibility of determining who are Librarians; determining what standards of knowledge and skills to be attained by persons seeking to be registered as Librarians; establish and maintaining a register of persons entitled to practice the profession, and maintaining discipline within the profession.

Consequent upon the powers conferred on the Council and having considered accordingly the several applications before it, the Council has approved the second batch of 1,177 people listed below to practice as Librarians in Nigeria with all the privileges thereof. The general public is hereby notified that the registration of Librarians is a continuous exercise. Henceforth, however, all employers of labour are advised NOT to engage unregistered Librarians to avoid being prosecuted. Similarly, anyone found parading him/herself as a Librarian without LRCN registration risks being arrested and prosecuted accordingly. It is incumbent on anyone with the requisite qualification whose name does not appear in this list to seek to register at once with the LRCN.

Everyone whose name is on this list is required to appear in person for the induction and collection of Certificate of Registration.

Induction Fee Payment Method:
It is mandatory for all inductees to pay the required fees on or before the induction date, Tuesday, 2nd August, 2011. The Induction fee is twenty five thousand naira only. Payment must be made into the following LRCN account:

  Bank:                                      First Bank of Nigeria Plc.
  Bank Account Number:          2019113517

 

After making the required Induction Fee payment into any of the above LRCN accounts, each inductee must bring proof of payment to the induction venue in person to be issued an official receipt. Please note that ONLY candidates who produce their official receipt of payment of the induction fee shall be issued their registration certificate.
